I’m going through a dry spell.
The last movie I saw was Hugo. That was a couple of weeks ago and I paid £15 (yes, that’s a student discount apparently…) to sit alone in the Leicester Square Odeon watching Asa Butterfield run around in 3D. Since then plenty of films have opened that I’ve wanted to see and yet…
…I haven’t seen them.
It’s getting to the point where I feel like I have to force myself to go to the cinema. It’s not the cost or the journey or the time it takes. It’s just a feeling of not being up to it, not feeling like getting out there and doing something that I know has (and does) give me pleasure.
I waited all year for Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo because, as regular readers will know, with the exception of Shite Club (I’m kidding, it’s good just not ‘Fincher good’) I’ve loved everything that he’s made. So why haven’t I see it yet? I DON’T FACKING KNOW!
So this article is by way of an apology and also an excuse to add some original content to the website. Shameless, I know.
To make up for it, here’s a cat who loves Skyrim (still in wrapper, review pending):
I should add that the shark lady is the product of taking the first result when you’re lazy enough to type ‘something’ into Google Images.
